The Client already owned her Wates PRC house and remortgaged with the Halifax to raise the funds to carry out a PRC Homes Ltd approved repair scheme. As she was having extra works completed internally she sensibly moved in with her Mother who lived quite close.
Once the foundation works have been completed the external concrete walls are removed. The breeze block wall behind the Wates panels remains in place as it is not PRC defective.

The new cavity walls with cavity insulation, all PRC repairs must conform to current building regulations and be signed off by the Building Inspector.
Wates houses usually have beams either side of the fireplace, these concrete beams need to be replaced with steel RSJ’s.
A new party wall has to be built against the party wall to comply with the licence requirements for Wates construction PRC repair. This wall is usually built in load bearing timber and then plasterboarded and plastered.
New windows and doors have been fitted and french doors with side panels to the dining area. New soffits, fascia and guttering has also been fitted
As there is a lot of plastering to make good on a Wates construction repair the Client took the opportunity to replaster the whole house and put in a new fitted kitchen.
Once the repair works have been completed the PRC certificate is issued, this certificate is acceptable to all high street mortgage lenders.
